What did you think before coming?

When I was preparing my trip to Afghanistan, I asked some forigners who already in afghanistan whether I should take ballproof vest and gas mask. Now I know how ludicrous I was. Afghanistan is just a normal and safe country with much less difficults than I imaged.

What was your time in Afghanistan like?

Everything was fresh for me when I first arrived here. After the first excitement,  I began to feel the people's energy and desire of rebuliding the country. The people's desire to get knowledge and skills really impressed me. During the time I gave workshop in Mediothek, people who missed part of the class acted as lost a huge amount of money; Many people bring their laptops to my room in hoilday to ask questions or a presonal teaching. My afghan colleague gets up at 5:30am every morning to attend  univeristy class. People here do not let any study chance pass.

The biggest challenge of my life in Kabul is the traffic jam. Yes, you can not image that kabul has traffic jams until you came here. But on the other hand, this shows kabul is a safe city ---people can easily go out. Though I only know a very limited Afghan Persian, I can go anywhere by the easily-found taxi. And walk on the street at night is also totally no problem here.

In Afghanistan you can get lots of amazing experience, like driving 1967's old Bittle car, finding various army-lies effused form army, and enjoying the delicious mutton on the endless lea. Kabul is a very international city, thitry thousands foreigners are working here; you can find almost every country's restaurant in Kabul.

What would you say to someone thinking of coming to Afghanistan?

It will be a impressive experience in your life. Ask some people who had been to Afghanistan is always a good idea. You will be surprised about how different their views from what you got from media. Normally you can buy everything you need here. If you are not come from english speaking country, bring some books may be helpful to kill time when the electricity is cut. Be sure you are ready to experience a different culture and life, then you can go.
